“Pensive and smart in every respect while maintaining a sense of being down to earth and accessible to a broad audience. There are great singers and then there are great singers who also possess a distinct, untouchable uniqueness in the tone and quality of their voice. This gal falls into the latter camp.”

Artist Biography
KB Lauryl is an American singer-songwriter from Connecticut whose music blends Laurel Canyon-inspired folk with contemporary sound. KB's craft centers on intimate storytelling, open-tuned guitar work, and a voice that folds vulnerability into memorable melodic lines. Her songwriting reaches for the classic singer-songwriter tradition while remaining unmistakably personal and modern.
In 2015, KB released the LP The Alabaster Girl, which brought her wide critical attention. One reviewer observed: “Krista has a comforting maturity to her voice. It really is charming and inviting, absorbing listeners into her poetry and stories.” Another praised the record’s emotional depth, noting that it “only scratches the surface of how deep this songwriter’s talent runs.[] Pensive and smart in every respect while maintaining a sense of being down to earth and accessible to a broad audience.” The Worcester Telegram & Gazette wrote, “When I tell you this album is beautiful, I mean that each note evokes a wistfulness in me I can barely understand.”
The Alabaster Girl appeared on several year-end lists, including Red Line Roots’ “Top 15 Records of 2015” and WUMB Radio’s “Top 10 Albums of 2015.” Following its release, KB toured extensively throughout the North- and South-Eastern United States and performed internationally. She supported the album with intimate concerts and festival appearances, bringing her songs into direct and lasting connection with audiences across regions.
In 2020, KB was forced to take an indefinite hiatus from music. After a long period of navigating chronic and disabling illness that went undiagnosed for many years, Krista turned her experience toward helping others. Drawing on thousands of hours of independent study in health, wellness, and functional medicine, she founded The Steel Orchid Collective — a mentorship program that helps sensitive people cultivate both physical and mental resilience. The Collective is dedicated to empowerment through knowledge, holistic healing, and creative resilience, reflecting the same ethos that defines her music: strength and sensitivity coexisting, rooted in the belief that recovery and artistry alike grow from curiosity, persistence, and connection.
These days KB is keeping a low profile living a quiet life with her husband and rescue cats in picturesque Eastern Connecticut. She is currently working on writing songs for a new full-length album.
